MTB Classic 55km Trail

R275.00

The 55km route is a new addition to the 2022 event. The 55km route is similar to the 80km route for the first 20kms after which it takes a shortcut and links up with the last 30 km of the 80km trail. This means riders will still enjoy majestic scenes from atop the Bergkraal plateau, which includes stunning new scenery added to the 2022 event before descending into the Olifants River Valley. The 55km route will cut out the famous Remhoogte climb and, sadly the gees and wine tasting at Klawer wine cellar but The 55km trail offers the majestic reward previously only enjoyed by the 80km riders in the form of the best 10km descent on offer. In terms of difficulty, the 55km route is a welcome addition to riders looking for more than a 30km social ride and the flagship 80km trail. It sports 880 meters of climbing. Although not regarded as a technical trail, a moderate level of skill is required. All routes will cut out the devilish “klipkoppie” climb at the end which means a fast, enjoyable run-in for the last 10km to cap off an epic trail. Waterpoints on the 10km, 30km and 50km mark.
